SERVICES: Programming, Site Plan Design, Architecture, Construction Administration

PROJECT: ACAI was commissioned to provide complete Architectural services including Facility Programming, Site Planning, and overall Architectural Design and construction documentation for a new Laboratory Building for the South Florida Water Management District.  

 

This project involved the design and development of a new 2-story, 36,000 sf facility based upon a Basis of Design Report (BODR) and site confi guration studies completed by ACAI, as well as compliance with the District's Standards.

 

The $9 million facility consolidates and centralizes fi ve ecological and water quality groups associated with the management and protection of South Florida's coastal resources. The new facility includes state-of-the-art modular laboratories, staff offices, sampling and environmentally controlled storage facilities designed around a central 2-story atrium.

 

We were later selected to provide Construction Administration services for the construction of this new Environmental Service Laboratory. Our scope of services included assistance during the bidding phase, review of shop drawings, responses to RFI's, attendance at bi-monthly construction meetings and construction observation.

This project was designed using sustainable design principles and has recently been designated as a LEED® Gold building.
